I just picked up this portable HF rig. 5 watts with the entire ham radio band and it will run off my portable solar power setup right from a backpack. I got my general license last year and have made contacts all over the world on my ICOM base station but now, I can go fully mobile and operate from anywhere ;>)

For the time being, I plan to run voice only, but will acquire PSK31 mobile capacity for passing text messages via that protocol.
